From The Artist:

"I enjoy looking at the amazing views from the back yards of these magnificent mansions in Newport, Rhode Island. The Breakers Mansion in particular has so many architectural details. As large as it is, it's easy to overlook the intricate detail that went into it's construction, and this presented a challenge while painting it. Forest enjoyed his walks along the Cliff Walk."

Description

Nothing typifies America's gilded age more than the Breakers Mansion in Newport, Rhode Island. It is the largest and most opulent of Newport's "summer houses".

Built by Cornelius Vanderbilt, II in 1895 on 13 oceanfront acres, it has 70 rooms, over 65,000 square feet and would cost $150 million to build today.

Richly decorated in gold, Italian marble and rare woods and mosaics from around the world, the Breakers is Rhode Island's most visited tourist attraction.
